Search Efforts
Search efforts are in progress by local resident, stay tuned here for updates.
For those who live currently on Cockburn Island, I would highly encourage you to search for these meteorites. Due to the steep angle of entry of this fireball and the low wind conditions, many of the thousands of meteorite fragments could be concentrated to an area of less than 100 hectares (250 acres). I have posted this map on my website as well, with KMZ files that can be downloaded to your phone (see instructions on my Strewnify website as well). If you have any questions, please let me know. https://www.strewnify.com/y20260620_00z_17t/
